I'm Sam and I'm addicted to good hair days.

As a kid, I had puffy, dry, frizzy hair that I wore in a ponytail all the time to avoid being teased by the other kids. On days when I let it out, I was called "Hagrid" or asked if I stuck my finger in a light socket. Kids can be mean, and I hated my hair.

I tried a chemical relaxer for the first time when I was 8 or 9 years old. I loved the results and how shiny and smooth my hair was! But that didn't last long, and I certainly didn't know then what kind of damage I was doing to my curls in an effort to just. stop. hating. my hair.

Then I discovered the Curly Girl Method and the underlying message to love your hair just as it is. I was amazed at some of the transformations I saw online. Could my hair really look like that? 

It took about two years of experimenting, transitioning, and finally understanding what my hair really needed to get to the point of appreciating the curls that I have now (most days... well-cared for curls can still be unruly sometimes!). I researched ingredients and practiced new techniques until I found what worked best... and I'm still learning.

Throughout this process, I was repeatedly frustrated when trying to get my hands on suitable products. I couldn't find most of the ones I wanted to try: the ones people were raving about on social media and the rest of the internet.

That's where Curl Warehouse came in. I wanted to make it easier for Canadian curlies to access what they wanted and needed without customs fees or extortionate cross-border shipping costs. We sell all sorts of curly hair products and accessories, many of which are considered Curly Girl Method approved because they do not contain sulfates, drying alcohols, non-water-soluble silicones or waxes, or petroleum products.
